An independent life science consultant based in Cambridge, UK.
Trained as a vet surgeon and originally from Taiwan, I was awarded a scholarship from Cambridge Overseas Trust in 2005 and came to the UK to pursue a PhD in clinical medicine at the University of Cambridge. Following a 3-year postdoc, I transitioned into the consultancy industry.
With a broad range of pre-clinical and clinical expertise, I assist clients to identify and adopt cutting-edge technologies and facilitate business growth through strategic partnerships.
My clients are pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare, and cosmetic companies. I also work with consultancy firms and provide industry specialist support
Technology scouting & landscaping
I assist clients to identify novel technologies and create strategic partnerships to enhance their market position. These new innovations and partnerships drive growth, foster business resilience and agility, help clients to meet evolving consumer needs, and stay ahead of the competition.
Technology due diligence & service verification
In today’s competitive market, finding the right technology or service provider can be a daunting task. To assist clients in making informed decisions, I conduct in-depth assessments through comprehensive secondary research and targeted primary research. Results are carefully evaluated to ensure they meet clients’ specific requirements. Ideal partners with optimal fit and capabilities will be recommended to the clients.
Business development
Effective business development is essential for driving company growth. As my clients’ strategic advisor, I engage with potential partners to identify mutually beneficial opportunities. The goal is to pursue and develop strategic alliances that contribute to clients’ growth and success.
Case studies

Medical device project – for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) strategy development
A major medical device company aimed to align their future R&D and growth strategies with pressing patient needs. They commissioned us to conduct a global analysis on disease trends, healthcare systems, and investment patterns. Our findings identified emerging technologies and partnership opportunities for the client to pursue, and we supported their M&A initiatives to drive innovation and growth.

Rare disease therapeutics project – for licensing deals
A global pharma client tasked us to search for early clinical trial-stage therapeutics for 35 rare diseases. A partner list consisting of 31 companies and 10 research groups that best met the client’s criteria was created. 5 companies were shortlisted and interviewed. We then made introductions between the client and potential partners to carry out further licensing discussions.

Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) project – for partnership opportunities
A global in-vitro diagnostic company sought to enter the CGT market through strategic partnerships. 16 potential partners from a pool of 40 were carefully selected based on the client’s specific requirements. Following a systemic business development process, we successfully connected the client and partner to initiate detailed discussion on collaboration.

Digital therapeutics (DTx) project – for a business diversification initiative
A multinational pharma intended to expand into the DTx sector for neurological conditions. We assisted their initiative by conducting a comprehensive technology scouting, followed by in-depth due diligence and competitive analysis on potential partners and their innovations. We also mapped out the regulatory and reimbursement landscape to inform effective market entry strategies.
